The Surface Design Association is an international community engaged in the creative exploration of fiber & fabric. The mission is to promote awareness & appreciation of the textile arts. We are the SDA-Washington North Peninsula Chapter.
We are a diverse group of fiber artists who live in and around the Olympic peninsula in western Washington. Currently we number more than 40 artists and craftspeople, and we work in media ranging from bookmaking to quilting to weaving to fiber sculpture and beyond. Our work ranges from traditional to exploratory, modern, and contemporary. We produce functional/wearable and non-functional pieces.
