UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS
Have an idea for a show? members are welcomed and encouraged to curate a PFA SHOW
Caryl Fallert-Gentry has created a detailed guide on how to do it.
November 7 - January 2026
UNDER THE SURFACE OF THE SALISH SEA
Location: Port Townsend Marine Science Flagship Landing Gallery, Port Townsend
Coordinators: Leslie Dickinson (ldakm@msn.com) and Debra Olson (debolson747@yahoo.ca)
The exhibition, "Under the Surface of the Salish Sea," will focus on marine life. It is important to distinguish the Marine Science Center from the Maritime Center; therefore, please refrain from including boats or landscapes in your submissions.
Due to the limited size of the venue, we encourage keeping artwork small to accommodate as many participants as possible in the exhibition. We also welcome 3-D items, as we have multiple locations available for their display.
Please note that the Flagship Landing Marine Science Gallery charges a 30% commission on sales, which should be factored into your item pricing. We aim for a diverse selection of small, affordable art pieces, especially during the holiday season, so more members can showcase their work. Additionally, having replacement pieces ready in case items sell would be beneficial, as we prefer that the public can leave with their purchased items.
**Submission Deadline:** October 1 (for more information contact Leslie or Debra)
For detailed instructions on preparing your work for the exhibition, please refer to Caryl's guidelines on our website (see "Preparing Your Artwork for Exhibitions" and "Photos for Shows").
This is a juried show due to the limited space available. Elizabeth from the Marine Science Flagship Landing will serve on the jury and help guide the exhibition to align with the gallery's expectations.
If you need inspiration, consider visiting the Marine Science Museum at Fort Warden to stimulate your artistic creativity.
UPCOMING FABRIC HABIT WINDOWS
December 2025 - January 2026
Because of the dates and season, this window could produce sales for Christmas gifts. Perhaps that gives you some ideas. On the other hand, you may just have some finished pieces that fit the size suggestion. Your piece should fit within a 16" x 16" space (or there abouts!). Both 2D and 3D work is acceptable. That leaves the theme wide open, so have fun and enjoy the opportunity to show your work!
Here is the info in bullet form:
~ Size 16" x16" or smaller
~ Work will be due by December 1st. I will accept finished pieces at the November 12th meeting, otherwise my address is 1534 Jefferson St PT for you to arrange drop off.
~ Work should be accompanied by:
1) Entry fee (cash or check made out to PFA or Merrie Jo Schroeder of $10)
2) Title
3) Price or NFS
4) Contact info (usually an email address so that a potential buyer can reach you)
5) Any packaging with you name and contact info on it
If you have further questions or need to contact me, remember to do so not to the group, but just to me at debolson747@yahoo.ca
