With a Little Help from My Friends

37” x 47”
2013
$750

Cotton fabric, machine sewn and quilted

This quilt was created with bits and pieces from an abandoned group project. Instead of tossing them into the landfill, I assembled the pieces together creating larger blocks. I then added the black and white fabric to tie it all together.

Made You Look!

20" x 18“
2021
$150

This piece was created as the Covid pandemic was well underway in the world. As most of us were hunkering down and trying to stay safe, it was the passion and diversion of sewing that helped me personally deal with the isolation. One day, while looking through my fabric stash I found some bold solids and began piecing them together. The piece seemed to take on its own shape as I continued adding more fabrics. The best part of finishing the piece was using matching thread to give it some dimension. I only just found what I feel is the perfect name for it a few months ago, when I found myself frequently looking at it and liking the images of the shapes and thread work. Guess it Made Me Look! Commercial fabric, machine quilting.

Owl

12” square
2023
$240

Punch needle rug hooking

Hand-spun, hand-dyed and commercial wool, mohair, rayon and nylon yarn on a linen base

Owls are the charismatic megafauna of the nighttime sky. This is in memory of such a spirit, a beautiful barn owl, who haunted the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes, near Harrison Idaho. She soars forever in my heart.
