Fiber Habit Planning Information
675 Tyler Street, Port Townsend
Contact Debra Olson (debolson747@yahoo.ca) if you are interested in curating/hanging a show or have questions.
What a great learning experience and opportunity to get to know other members while having fun setting up a display! Two or three working together seems to be a good number without running into each other. That also gives room for dividing up tasks such as taking photos and generating a title sheet along with contact information for exhibiting artists. It is a great way to be involved in our group without making a huge time commitment. Most everything needed for hanging an exhibit is included in our very complete supply box. Mannequins may also be available for certain displays upon request.
Besides requiring that 2 or more members work together on an installation, there are few restrictions. This document has some basic guidelines and list of responsibilities.
Rough Window Dimensions:
back wall: 8’ high x 10’ wide; left side wall: 8’ high x 6.5’ wide; right side wall 8’ high x 3.5’ wide
floor: 6.5’ deep x 13’ wide
PLEASE NOTE:
The people who work in the office directly above the window can't have meetings in that room if there's hammering below, so several days before hanging your show, call and notify them of the day and time of installation: Gale Investment

Curators are responsible for collecting all fees ($10/person) for the window and giving the sum to our treasurer.
WEBPAGE for Installation
Curators - you are responsible for gathering the photos and information for the website - or making sure your artists have uploaded the information. Once it is all ready, please let Merrie Jo Schroeder know. If you have an idea of an alternate format you would like to see on the webpage, you may create a Word Document and send it along with the photos to Merrie Jo.
Check out past webpages for ideas - but feel free to come up with something completely different! You can tell your story here.
Access to the window
Debra Olson, who lives in Port Townsend, has volunteered to be the keeper of the key for the Habit Window. She can do errands to the window if pieces need to be replaced, her home can be a drop-off location, and she is willing to store a few small display items at her house.
